Program Educational Objectives

As the Department of Child Development, our educational objectives are as follows:

Gaining Expertise in the Field of Child Development:
Graduates will understand the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social developmental processes of individuals aged 0–18 and produce professional solutions in these areas. By applying both theoretical and practical knowledge in child development, they will design interventions that best meet the developmental needs of individuals aged 0–18.

Developing Practices that Ensure the Health and Safety of Individuals Aged 0–18:
Graduates will have knowledge of care, health, and safety measures that support healthy development and will apply this knowledge in ways that enhance the quality of life of individuals aged 0–18.

Developing Effective Communication Skills with Individuals Aged 0–18:
Graduates will be professionals capable of communicating effectively with children and adolescents and supporting their development through a holistic approach. They will observe learning processes and implement developmental support programs tailored to individual differences.

Collaborating with Families and Other Professionals:
Graduates will work collaboratively with families and other professionals to conduct multidisciplinary/interdisciplinary/transdisciplinary studies that best support the development of individuals aged 0–18. They will also provide child-centered counseling services to families in line with societal needs.

Developing a Professional Identity Within the Framework of Children’s Rights and Ethical Values:
Graduates will develop a professional identity that respects human rights and children's rights, act with a sense of social responsibility, and offer solutions that address the needs of children and adolescents. They will plan and implement professional projects and activities that contribute to their social environment.

Adopting Lifelong Learning:
Throughout their undergraduate education, graduates will gain self-awareness, use their creativity and strengths effectively, remain open to improving their weaknesses, and follow current knowledge and practices in the field of child development. They will adopt lifelong learning and take on active roles as sensitive professionals who continuously sustain their professional development.
